About The Grinch

The Grinch for Game Boy Color is a top-down action game structured around seven distinct scenes. Its core objective involves navigating village areas to collect every Christmas present before a timer expires.

Players control either the Grinch or his dog Max across various levels. These environments often include multiple screens and interiors of houses. The primary opposition comes from the citizens of Who-Ville, who will pursue the character if they are seen. Direct confrontation is limited, as the Grinch possesses only a few stunning attacks, making evasion the typical response when detected. Villagers will eventually cease their chase after a short period.

Time management is a central mechanic, with the countdown extendable by collecting specific icons. In certain stages, the Grinch operates a small vehicle. When controlling Max, a jump ability is available to avoid the dogs that act as enemies in those segments. The overall challenge stems from balancing stealthy present collection against the persistent threat of pursuit within a timed framework.
