About Saban's Power Rangers: Time Force
Saban's Power Rangers: Time Force for the Game Boy Color is a platformer where players control a team of time-traveling police from the year 3000. Their mission is to capture escaped criminals who have fled to various historical periods.
Players can choose from five different Rangers at the start of each stage, each with unique attributes in areas like vitality and speed. The core objective is to locate and defeat a target criminal within a set time limit, navigating through environments that range from prehistoric jungles to futuristic cities.
Combat involves selecting from melee fists, a staff, or a gun, with the latter two consuming a renewable energy meter. Collectible power-ups can restore health, replenish this energy, or reduce the remaining time. A mid-level character swap is also possible using a special warp system.
After the initial stages, boss encounters become a two-part challenge. The ranger must first defeat the enemy normally, then engage in a second battle using a large Megazord mech, which operates in a one-on-one fighting game style. The progression through the game's eight levels offers some player choice in the order they are tackled.
