About Kirikou

Kirikou is a platform game for the Game Boy Color that adapts the story of the 1998 animated film. The player controls the titular boy on a quest to defeat the sorceress Karaba and rescue the warriors of his village.

Gameplay involves navigating side scrolling stages with a significant emphasis on vertical movement, using ladders to connect different platform heights. Kirikou can attack enemies with a knife and gather various items scattered throughout each stage.

While a heads up display tracks the number of collectibles in a level, finding them all is optional. Progress is achieved simply by reaching the stage exit. The game provides a password upon completing each of its nine levels.
