Extreme Sports with The Berenstain Bears is a racing game featuring six different sporting events. Players control either Brother or Sister Bear across winter, river, and dirt environments.

The objective involves racing against time across eighteen distinct courses to win a championship. These tracks are set on varied surfaces such as hard snow, whitewater rapids, and muddy terrain, which are populated with environmental obstacles including trees, rocks, and waterfalls.

Gameplay incorporates performing aerial stunts like back flips and barrel rolls. Successfully executing maneuvers such as a Superman or Table Top can provide a temporary speed boost by stopping the clock.
