About Astérix: Search for Dogmatix

Astérix: Search for Dogmatix is a side-scrolling adventure where players guide the comic book heroes through levels set between France and Rome. The objective is to locate Obelix's missing pet, which involves navigating stages filled with Roman soldiers, boars, and centurions.

Progression relies on finding keys within levels to unlock new areas. Coins dropped by defeated enemies can be spent at inns, which are operated by Getafix and provide energy restoration, hints, and password saves.

Players select either Asterix or Obelix, each with distinct physical traits. Asterix is quicker and more agile, suited for platforming, while Obelix moves slower but can destroy certain walls with his strength. The game offers a fair degree of non-linearity, as stages and mini-games can be accessed from a map screen in a chosen order.

Separate from the main quest, several mini-games are available directly from the title screen under an "Instant Fun" option. These include activities like a memory matching game and a humorous event centered on throwing Romans.
