Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 4

Review

Master its redesigned career mode, completing trick and combo based goals for each pro skater.

Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 4 was released for Game Boy Advance in 2002, the same year as the original console versions.

About Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 4

Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 4 is an installment in a well known skateboarding series. Its career mode operates without a time limit, allowing players to explore levels freely until they choose to initiate specific tasks by interacting with professional skaters. These objectives range from familiar point and collection challenges to new ones that require maintaining a combo.

The roster includes numerous professional skaters such as Tony Hawk, Bob Burnquist, and Rodney Mullen. Levels are large and varied, featuring locations like a college campus, a shipyard, and Alcatraz prison.

Multiplayer retains previous modes like Graffiti and Horse while adding Capture The Flag and Combo Mambo. System Link play is supported, but online functionality varies by platform. The PlayStation 2 version includes online play and a demo for another sports game, which other versions lack.

Completing all standard goals in a level unlocks a challenging Pro Goal unique to each skater. The overall structure gives players control over the pacing of objectives, moving away from timed sessions.
