About Magi Nation

Magi Nation is a turn based role playing game where the player controls Tony Jones, a boy transported to a monster filled realm called the Moonlands. His goal is to help its inhabitants repel an invasion of Dark Magi while seeking a way home.

The core activity involves collecting and training monsters known as Dream Creatures for combat, similar to other creature collection games. These creatures gain strength through experience but do not evolve, making the acquisition of new ones from each region a necessary part of progression due to fair power scaling. In battle, which resembles a tabletop card game in appearance only, the player directly commands a team of up to four creatures alongside Tony's own actions, with no random card drawing mechanics.

Beyond creature battles, gameplay includes overworld exploration with simple puzzles, the use of spells in combat, and the collection of artefacts to equip Dream Creatures. Finding secret legendary creatures called hyrens is part of completing a collection. After the main story, a New Game+ mode becomes available, offering access to further hidden content.
