You control a single batter. After a brief, silly ritual involving a bat, your main task is to hit a home run and then run the bases. The moment-to-moment play involves using the mouse for initial interactions and then rapidly tapping the left and right arrow keys to make your character sprint around the diamond. The pitcher throws automatically, and your goal is to connect with the ball and then outrun the fielders who chase you in a frantic scramble. The pace is fast and a little chaotic, especially when you're being pursued. It feels like a quick, physical scramble more than a strategic sports simulation.
