About Short Cut
Short Cut was one of those simple, clever puzzle games that felt typical of the Flash era. You'd find it on a gaming portal, load it up in your browser, and get straight to thinking. It didn't need a big introduction.
You control the layout of a road by clicking on square tiles. Each click rotates a tile, shifting the path drawn on it. Your only goal is to create a continuous route from the starting flag to the finish line. The mechanics are straightforward: you manipulate individual tiles, but you have to consider how each rotation affects the whole network. Some levels introduce one-way arrows or blocked segments, forcing you to plan the sequence of your clicks. The puzzles start gently, then gradually demand more foresight. It feels like untangling a knot with your mouse, one thoughtful click at a time.
