About Shoplifter

Shoplifter was one of those simple, quick games you'd find during the Flash era. It didn't have a complicated story or fancy graphics. You just loaded it up in your browser and started playing. The goal was straightforward, and it fit right in with the kind of instant, casual fun that defined a lot of those web games.

You control a small character, often just a simple figure, inside a store. Using the arrow keys, you navigate the aisles, trying to avoid the security cameras that sweep back and forth. When you get close to an item, you press the spacebar to grab it. The main objective is to steal a certain number of items without getting caught. If a camera sees you, the game ends. The pacing is tense; you have to watch the camera patterns and move during the brief moments they're pointed away. It feels like a quiet, nervous game of cat and mouse, where a single wrong move means starting over.
