About Scraper Caper
Scraper Caper was one of those games you'd find on a Flash portal in the mid-2000s. It had that simple, cartoonish look common to a lot of browser games from that period. You played as a construction worker, a little guy in a hard hat, and the premise was straightforward. Your lunch was missing, and it was somewhere up the building.
You control the worker with the arrow keys, moving him left and right across the steel girders of a half-built skyscraper. The goal is to climb each of the three levels to reach your lunchbox at the very top. The moment-to-moment play involves jumping between beams while avoiding hazards like falling tools or birds. You can press the spacebar to fire a "belly rumble", a projectile that can clear some obstacles or stun enemies momentarily. The game moves at a brisk pace, and the platforms get narrower as you ascend, making the jumps more precise. It feels like a quick, focused scramble against gravity and a ticking clock.
