About Rainbow Collect
Rainbow Collect was one of those simple, colorful games you'd find during the Flash era. It came out in 2008, a time when a lot of us were killing a few minutes between tasks on a web browser. The game had a clean, almost minimalist look that felt typical for the period, focusing more on the puzzle than on elaborate graphics.
You control a cursor, clicking on groups of identical fruits to clear them from the board. The main objective is to strategize for points, removing as many fruits as you can before the grid fills up. A key mechanic is that you must click on groups of at least two matching fruits; any single, unmatched fruit you click will cost you 100 points. This forces you to plan your clicks, often setting up larger chain reactions for better scores. The pace starts calmly but tightens as the board gets crowded, creating a quiet tension. It feels like a tidy, methodical puzzle where a single misclick can unravel your careful planning.
