About Planetary Orbital Defense

Planetary Orbital Defense was one of those straightforward arcade games you'd find during the Flash era. It didn't try to be anything more than a quick, intense test of reflexes. You were simply there to stop an alien invasion, and that was the entire premise.

You control a planetary defense system, which in practice means aiming a cursor with your mouse and clicking to fire at incoming waves of squid-like ships. Your main objective is to protect the planet's surface below; if too many enemies slip past your barrage and crash into it, the game ends. You also have a few ground-based tanks at your disposal. You can switch between them to cover different angles, and you move them laterally to intercept bombs that get through your orbital fire. The pacing is relentless, with each wave introducing more enemies and faster patterns. It feels like a constant, frantic scramble to plug every gap in your defenses before the screen fills up.
