Ninja Kid

You guide the ninja from left to right across a single screen, using the arrow keys to move and jump. The spacebar lets you swing your sword, which is your main way of dealing with the creatures that appear. Some enemies shoot fireballs you can slice in mid-air, while others have more unusual attacks. The goal is simply to survive each wave and progress as far as you can. The pace is quick, and the difficulty comes from managing the increasing number of projectiles and enemies on screen. It feels like a frantic test of your reflexes and timing.
