About Matrix Rampage

Matrix Rampage was one of those games you'd find in the early 2000s, a time when Flash games were a regular part of browsing the web. It came out around 2003, I think, and it was made by a developer named Nitrome. The game was a direct nod to the film series, letting you step into a digital world of green code and slow motion combat.

You control a character who looks straight out of the movies, navigating a series of rooms in a wireframe building. Your basic moves are running, jumping between platforms, and punching. The key mechanic is picking up weapons scattered around, from pistols to assault rifles, which you use to fight endless waves of identical agents in suits. The main goal is simply to survive and clear each floor, moving upward while the enemies keep coming. The pace is frantic; you are almost always surrounded, and the difficulty comes from the sheer number of foes. It feels like a chaotic, repetitive brawl where your only relief is finding a better gun. Playing it is a straightforward rush of constant movement and shooting.
