About Infect
Infect was one of those simple, absorbing games you'd find during the Flash era. It came out in 2008, a time when a clever concept and straightforward controls were enough to keep you clicking for hours. The game didn't need elaborate graphics or a complex story. It presented a clear, almost clinical premise and let the mechanics do the work.
You control a virus, represented by a small circular cell, using your mouse to guide it. Your objective is to survive and grow by absorbing smaller, weaker cells while avoiding larger, predatory ones. Moment to moment, you're constantly navigating the petri dish-like field, darting toward green blobs for nourishment and swiftly changing direction when a red threat appears. The game speeds up as you grow, making the environment more crowded and dangerous. It starts calmly but quickly demands sharper reflexes and careful positioning. The experience feels like a tense, escalating race where a single misjudgment can end your run.
