About Ice Age Rampage
Ice Age Rampage was one of those simple, straightforward games you'd find during the Flash era. It came out in 2005, a time when a quick browser game could easily fill a few minutes. The developer, Nitrome, was known for these kinds of pixel-art titles. The premise was clear from the start: you were driving a car in a frozen world, trying to outrun a massive glacier.
You control a small, boxy vehicle with the arrow keys, accelerating forward and steering left or right. The main goal is to stay ahead of the crushing ice wall that relentlessly follows you down a winding, single-lane road. Moment to moment, you're dodging obstacles like rocks and gaps in the path, while also trying to collect coins scattered along the route. The coins let you purchase upgrades between runs, things like better engines or stronger frames. The pacing is fast, and the difficulty ramps up quickly as the road becomes more treacherous. It feels like a tense, perpetual escape where a single mistake sends you back to the beginning.
