About Hop Skip and Jump
Hop Skip and Jump was one of those simple Flash games you'd find in the late 2000s. It didn't have a complicated story or fancy graphics. You just opened it in your browser and started playing, which was the point of that whole era.
You control a small, blocky character trying to climb a tower made of floating concrete slabs. The moment to moment play is about timing. You use the arrow keys to move left and right, positioning yourself under the next platform. Pressing the spacebar makes you jump straight up to grab its edge. The main objective is to climb as high as you can without falling. Recognizable mechanics include dodging bombs that periodically drop from above and navigating gaps where platforms are missing. The pacing is quick, and the difficulty comes from the platforms becoming more spaced out and the bombs more frequent the higher you go. It feels like a steady, tense scramble against gravity.
