About Hierarchical

Hierarchical was one of those games you'd find buried in the Flash portals of the mid-2000s. It didn't have a big name attached to it, just a straightforward premise delivered through that familiar, blocky pixel style. You knew what you were getting into.

You control a small ship at the bottom of the screen, moving left and right to avoid incoming fire. Your goal is simple: survive the waves of geometric enemies and defeat the large boss that appears at the end of each stage. You fire upward constantly, your shots chipping away at the descending formations. The mechanics are basic but effective; you collect power-ups that change your weapon's spread, and you learn to weave through tight patterns of enemy bullets. The pacing is relentless, with little downtime between assaults. It feels like a constant, tense negotiation for space on the screen.
