About Head Space
Head Space was one of those games you'd find in the late 2000s, tucked away on a Flash portal. It didn't announce itself with a big name developer or a complicated story. It just loaded up and put you right into the cockpit. The game had a simple, almost stark presentation that was common for the era, focusing more on the immediate action than on any frills.
You control a small fighter jet viewed from above. Your mouse moves the ship, and a left click fires your main weapon. The screen quickly fills with enemies descending from the top, and your job is to survive as long as possible. You shoot down waves of basic foes, which can include oddly persistent things like raindrops, before facing more aggressive formations and larger bosses. The pacing is relentless; there's rarely a moment to pause as new threats spawn. Power-ups occasionally drop, changing your weapon for a limited time, which adds a small layer of strategy to the constant dodging and shooting. It feels like a tense, focused scramble where every second counts.
