About Free Mars
You control a lone astronaut in a jetpack, floating against the scrolling backdrop of Mars. Your job is to defend the planet's surface from waves of incoming alien ships. You move with the arrow keys, dodging enemy fire while holding the spacebar to shoot your laser. The ships come in patterns, some diving straight at you and others weaving across the screen, so you're constantly adjusting your position. The main goal is to survive as long as possible, clearing each wave to progress. The pace is steady, and the difficulty builds in a predictable way, with more enemies and faster attacks as you go. It feels like a focused test of your reflexes and positioning, a simple loop of movement and shooting that becomes quite demanding.
