About Cubius
Cubius was one of those straightforward puzzle games you'd find during the Flash era. It didn't try to be anything more than a clean, functional challenge you could load in a browser. The interface was simple, often just a grid of colored blocks against a plain background, which felt typical for the time.
You control a cursor, clicking on groups of two or more adjacent cubes that share the same color. When you click, that cluster vanishes, and the remaining blocks settle downward under gravity. New rows of cubes descend from the top after each move, steadily filling the space. The main objective is to survive by preventing the grid from filling completely. The pace is methodical at first, but the speed of the incoming rows increases, and the color variety grows. It creates a quiet tension, where a few misplaced clicks can quickly corner you. The game feels like a race against a slow, inevitable tide.
