Critical Mass

You control a set of stationary cannons placed around the edges of the playfield. Your job is to shoot the colored balls bouncing inside the arena before their numbers grow out of control. The core mechanic is collision. When two balls of the same color touch, they merge into a single, larger ball. This creates a chain reaction you must manage. Your objective is to clear each level by destroying every ball, but you have to be careful. If too many balls are on screen at once, they reach a critical mass and you lose a life. The pace starts calmly but quickly demands your full attention, forcing you to think about angles and timing with each shot. It feels like a constant, tense calculation where a single missed opportunity can unravel your entire strategy.
