About City Surfing

City Surfing was one of those games you'd find tucked away on a Flash portal in the late 2000s. It didn't have a big studio name attached to it, but it was a common sight for anyone browsing for a quick, physics-based distraction. The premise was simple and a bit absurd, which fit right in with the era's experimental spirit.

You control a surfer on a short board, navigating a narrow, winding river that cuts through a city. Using the arrow keys, you tilt forward to gain speed and lean back to slow down, constantly adjusting to stay centered in the current. The spacebar lets you jump over obstacles like low bridges or debris. The main goal is to travel as far as you can without wiping out by hitting a wall or falling off the board. You can perform stunts with the number keys, which add to your score but also risk a crash if you're not balanced. The pacing is fast; the river twists unexpectedly, and a moment's lapse in concentration sends you tumbling. It feels like a constant, precarious balancing act, a test of reflexes more than strategy.
