About Bluep
One morning when returning to the office, Eric and I were dismayed to find Bubble Tanks and Triangles making out on the floor. About nine months later we had a little Bluep. It was a strange, small game from the Flash era, the kind you'd find tucked away on a portal site. I don't recall who exactly made it, but it felt like a personal experiment, a quick sketch of an idea.
You control a small blue circle, a simple dot on a stark field. Other colored dots, your enemies, bounce along the screen's edges. Your job is to touch them to eliminate them, but you must also constantly jump to avoid horizontal laser beams that sweep across the play area. The challenge is in managing both tasks at once; you weave between threats while trying to corner a target. It moves quickly, and a single hit ends your run. The game feels frantic and slightly absurd, a test of split-second timing in a very minimal world.
