About Wild Streets

Wild Streets is a side-scrolling arcade game set in a dystopian 1998 New York. The city is divided between ruined gang territories and the fortified estates of powerful drug barons who control the economy.

The player's mission originates from a government crackdown led by the CIA. After initial successes against smaller gangs, the criminal response escalates with the kidnapping of the agency's leader, known as "The Boss". The objective is to infiltrate the city, locate the hostage, and escort him to safety.

Gameplay involves navigating different urban areas, engaging enemies with hand-to-hand combat, kicks, and a .357 Magnum. A trained panther accompanies the player, providing assistance during fights. Opposition increases in skill, with some gang leaders presenting a challenging threat that requires strategic use of ammunition.

The final phase of the mission shifts focus to protection, as the rescued hostage is physically weakened and vulnerable during the escape.
