WarCraft: Orcs & Humans

Review
Also known as
WC1 WarCraft I

This real-time strategy game tasks you with commanding humans or orcs to mine resources and build armies for dominance over Azeroth.

WarCraft: Orcs & Humans was first released for MS-DOS in 1994, making it both the original release and the DOS version release year.

About WarCraft: Orcs & Humans

WarCraft: Orcs & Humans is a real-time strategy game from Blizzard Entertainment where two factions vie for control. The conflict begins when a portal opened by the mage Medivh introduces Orcish hordes to the previously peaceful human kingdom of Azeroth, initiating a war for dominance.

Players choose to command either the Human or Orc forces, each with a distinct campaign of twelve scenarios. Success requires gathering resources like gold and wood to fund the construction of buildings and the training of military units. The fantasy setting features a variety of troops, from Knights and Archers to magical units such as Clerics, Warlocks, and Necromancers.

Multiplayer competition for two players is supported across several connection types, including modem and network play. Over twenty custom maps are available for these head-to-head matches, which are also compatible between IBM-PC and Macintosh versions.

Well protected side, especially if arrows are fully upgraded.
Certain missions do not have buildings, and can require fighting in the caves.
Squattering people is better strategy than running. Also, some things, like doors, can also be destroyed.
Conjurers can summon up to four scorpions with full mana. Scorpions do not count as population, so you can have 'em as much as they can fit the map. Same rule applies to orcish spiders.
Elemental is the strongest unit humans can create, but still weaker than orcish demon. He compensate that slight weakness with increased range of attack.
Mages can create both scorpions and elemental, which do not count as population, but takes time for mana to recharge.
Attacking orcs where it hurts the most.
