The Lost Vikings: Viking no Daimeiwaku הויקינגים バイキングの大迷惑

This puzzle-platformer challenges you to combine three heroes' unique skills to escape an alien zoo.

The Lost Vikings was originally released for the Super Nintendo in 1992. The DOS version was released in 1993, matching the legacy year.

About The Lost Vikings

The Lost Vikings is a side-scrolling platform game built around puzzle solving. Its core mechanic involves managing three distinct characters simultaneously, each possessing a fixed set of abilities essential for progression.

The narrative setup involves the abduction of the three Vikings by an alien ruler named Tomator, who collects exotic beings for display. To escape and confront him, the trio must navigate environments filled with hostile creatures including robots, giant snails, and large lizards.

Gameplay requires the player to switch control between the Vikings at will, using their skills in concert. One character can jump and charge through barriers, another employs a versatile shield for defense and elevation, while the third attacks with a sword and can shoot arrows to hit distant targets or switches. Success depends on strategic coordination, as no single character can perform all necessary actions.

The challenge escalates through progressively more difficult levels. Each Viking has a health limit and a small inventory, and losing all health points results in death, forcing a restart of the current stage. Some environmental hazards cause instant death, making the overall experience challenging.
