The Dagger of Amon Ra

The Dagger of Amon Ra is a murder mystery adventure set almost entirely within a New York museum. The protagonist, Laura Bow, becomes trapped inside with other guests after a dagger is stolen and a killing occurs during an exhibition opening.

Player interaction is managed through an icon based interface, a departure from the text parser of the earlier game. This system is used to explore the museum's rooms, converse with characters by selecting topics, and employ collected inventory items. The game's progression is governed by a clock that advances based on movement or specific actions, making certain clues and events time sensitive.

Success hinges on thorough investigation and information gathering from the various suspects, rather than solving complex puzzles. The final challenge requires presenting a coherent case by correctly answering a series of questions about the crimes, an outcome directly tied to the player's prior observations. A CD release of the game includes full voice acting for all dialogue and narration.
