About The Civil War

The Civil War is a turn based DOS game set during the American Civil War from 1861 to 1865. Players assume control of either the Union or Confederate forces with a primary objective of capturing a required number of enemy cities before the historical conflict concludes.

Its gameplay integrates both strategic and tactical layers. A notable feature is its extensive difficulty system, which combines nine distinct strategic factors, such as supply and unit fatigue, with five realism levels for each, creating numerous potential configurations. Despite the option to maximize all difficulty settings, completing a campaign can be accomplished in a relatively short timeframe, suggesting the overall challenge can be easy to manage.
