About Realms of Arkania: Star Trail

Realms of Arkania: Star Trail is a role-playing game that continues a series adapted from the German tabletop system Das Schwarze Auge. Its gameplay involves navigating pseudo-3D environments for towns and dungeons, while tactical combat is presented on isometric screens. Character progression and creation are governed by a detailed skill-based system.

The narrative follows a party of adventurers who previously thwarted an orc invasion of Thorwal. Now summoned to the elven city of Kvirasim, they learn the orcs have regrouped to target a new region. Their mission to recover the Salamander Stone, an artifact meant to forge an alliance between elves and dwarves against this threat, leads them toward an abandoned dwarven mine. This quest is complicated by factions within the land who actively oppose such cooperation.

Compared to the first game, this sequel incorporates a greater number of side quests. The journey is further defined by more personalized and varied travel events, which frequently require the player to make consequential choices, making the overall experience challenging.
