Normality

Review
Also known as
Normality Inc. נורמליטי

This 3D adventure challenges you to solve puzzles and join the resistance to overthrow a totalitarian regime.

Normality was developed by Gremlin Interactive and first released for MS-DOS in 1996, making the DOS version the original release.

About Normality

Normality is a three dimensional adventure title where players control a teenager named Kent Knutson. The setting is the city of Neutropolis, governed by a regime that outlaws displays of happiness or other non standard emotions.

Gameplay involves traditional puzzle solving, focused on locating and using objects within the environment. This is facilitated by an inventory system for the items Kent collects. The visual style is cartoon like, distinguishing it from other 3D adventures of its time.

Kent's arrest by the Norms police force for whistling leads to his imprisonment. There, he learns of a clandestine resistance group from an anonymous note, setting his primary objective to find and potentially aid them in opposing the city's dictator.
