Lure of the Temptress (1992)

This point-and-click adventure challenges you to escape a dungeon, disguise yourself, and liberate a medieval town from an evil sorceress.

Lure of the Temptress was developed by Revolution Software and published by Virgin Games. It was first released for MS-DOS in 1992, which is also the original release year for the game on any platform.

About Lure of the Temptress

Lure of the Temptress is a DOS adventure game set in a medieval region oppressed by a sorceress named Selena. Her control is enforced by the skorl, a warrior race hostile to humans that has instilled fear across the land.

The player assumes the role of Diermot, an ordinary man imprisoned by the skorl. His initial and ongoing objective involves escaping captivity and then devising a way to free his homeland from this threat. The game operates on a Virtual Theater system, where non-playable characters pursue their own routines and actions independent of player input.

Interaction is facilitated through a range of commands, which include directing a companion character to assist in overcoming various puzzles. This creates a dynamic environment where solutions often depend on engaging with the autonomous world and its inhabitants.
