About Les Manley in: Lost in L.A.

Les Manley in: Lost in L.A. is a point and click adventure game set in Los Angeles, where the player investigates the disappearance of numerous celebrities. The protagonist's friend Helmut and his girlfriend LaFonda are among those who have vanished.

Interaction is handled entirely with the mouse, as objects and characters become highlighted for examination. A menu of context sensitive actions appears when these are clicked, and inventory items are managed through the same system. These items can be applied to environmental elements or people, but not directly combined with each other.

The visual presentation mixes cartoon backdrops with simple digitized footage of live actors, the latter primarily featured in cutscenes and character dialogues. Conversations offer multiple dialogue choices, though the game's linear design prevents failure from selecting incorrect options. Control is later expanded to a second character during the course of the story.
