About Hugo’s House of Horrors

Hugo's House of Horrors is a graphic adventure where the player controls Hugo to rescue his missing sweetheart, Penelope. She disappeared while babysitting at a haunted house, requiring Hugo to investigate the building and the areas surrounding and below it.

Player interaction combines directional movement with a text parser for commands. This setup is used to navigate environmental hazards and manipulate objects discovered during exploration. The challenges presented are a mix of inventory-based puzzles and tests of dexterity or specific knowledge, making the overall experience challenging.

This title was distributed as shareware and functions as the introductory entry to a trilogy. The complete package for the series included two subsequent adventures, a hint book, and an automated solution utility.
