Double Dragon 3: The Rosetta Stone

Review
Also known as
Double Dragon 3 Double Dragon 3: The Arcade Game Double Dragon III: The Rosetta Stone

This side-scrolling beat 'em up challenges players to master its altered combat system and defeat a great evil in Egypt with up to three players.

Double Dragon 3: The Rosetta Stone was originally released in arcades in 1990. The DOS version was published by Tradewest in 1991, not 1992 as the legacy year suggests.

About Double Dragon 3: The Rosetta Stone

Double Dragon 3: The Rosetta Stone concludes the trilogy with brothers Billy and Jimmy Lee. After martial arts training, they encounter a fortune teller who warns of a powerful threat in Egypt and mentions the potential aid of the Rosetta Stones.

The game introduces shops where players can purchase various aids, including power-ups that enlarge the characters to increase their damage and attack range. Additional purchasable items include extra lives and other combat enhancements. The visual presentation shifts from a cartoon style to more realistically proportioned character sprites.
