About Death Gate

In this graphical interactive fiction title, players assume the role of Haplo, a Patryn whose people were imprisoned in a Labyrinth by the Sartan race millennia ago. The game presents its world through a first person perspective, relying on text descriptions and verb based commands for interaction.

Haplo's quest involves traveling through the Death Gate to four elemental worlds, which were created when the Sartan fractured the original planet and scattered the mensch races across them. His objective is to locate seal pieces on each world, a mission given by his lord Xar to enable the Patryn to remake the world and exact vengeance.

Gameplay centers on solving numerous puzzles, many of which require the use of collected inventory items. A key system involves casting magic spells, an ability integral to progressing past many obstacles. Dialogue with other characters often presents players with multiple choice responses.
