About X-Men: Mutant Apocalypse

X-Men: Mutant Apocalypse is a side-scrolling action game that integrates brawling and platform navigation. The narrative follows Professor Xavier dispatching a team of five mutants to Genosha after detecting the villain Apocalypse's involvement with the island's anti-mutant agenda.

Gameplay requires navigating stages filled with enemies and environmental obstacles, culminating in battles against significant foes. A password system retains progress. While certain levels are character-specific, others allow selection from the available roster.

Each X-Man possesses distinct capabilities that affect play. These include Cyclops's ranged optic blast, Wolverine's wall-climbing, Psylocke's superior agility, Beast's ability to cling to ceilings, and Gambit's projectile cards. Several character-specific special moves utilize command inputs reminiscent of fighting games.
