About Super Metroid

Super Metroid is a platform game set on the planet Zebes, which functions as a continuous open world rather than separate levels. The bounty hunter Samus Aran returns to this location after a stolen Metroid larva is taken there by a dragon, following the destruction of a research station. Her objective is to recover the larva while surviving the planet's hazards.

Exploration involves moving through interconnected rooms, with doors and hidden passages opened by shooting. Progress is gated by acquiring items that grant new abilities, such as enhanced weaponry or tools like a grappling hook. These upgrades allow access to previously unreachable areas. Defeated enemies, which repopulate rooms upon re-entry, often drop health or ammunition. The player's growing arsenal makes these encounters progressively more manageable, creating a fair difficulty curve where thorough exploration is necessary to advance.
