About Super Castlevania IV

Super Castlevania IV retells the original Castlevania narrative, placing the vampire hunter Simon Belmont against Count Dracula in 1691. The journey involves navigating a series of timed platforming stages, beginning with five areas leading to the castle, which itself contains six redesigned levels.

Combat relies on Simon's signature whip, which can attack in eight directions and be held out to block incoming strikes. He can also use it to swing from grappling points. Additional sub-weapons, powered by collected hearts, are found by interacting with the environment.

The game employs the SNES hardware for visual effects, including parallax scrolling and rotating rooms. Progress is recorded using a password system provided upon completing a stage.
