Super Bonk

Review
Also known as
Chou Genjin Super B.C. Kid 超原人

Control the caveman hero across time, using headbutts and transformations to defeat King Drool.

Super Bonk (Chou Genjin) was released for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System in Japan in 1994, with the North American release also in 1994. This is the original game version, so both years are 1994.

About Super Bonk

Super Bonk is a side scrolling platformer that represents the series debut on the Super Nintendo. The core action involves the caveman protagonist using his head as a primary weapon against enemies.

Levels are set across various time periods and unusual locations, ranging from prehistoric environments and a dinosaur's interior to a modern Chinatown district and the lunar surface. Progression through these stages can involve transportation tubes.

Gameplay includes a variety of transformative power ups. Bonk can discover items that alter his size dramatically or change his form entirely, such as into a crab that shoots projectiles or a large dinosaur known as Big Kronk. Other abilities, like flight, are granted by items such as propeller seeds, and he can now equip spring flowers on his head.

The adventure continues his conflict with the antagonist King Drool. Players can also access multiple bonus levels during the course of the game.
