Rampart

Review
Also known as
Super Rampart ランパート

Build castle walls with Tetris style pieces, then defend them with cannon fire against enemy fleets.

Rampart was originally released in arcades in 1990. The SNES version, published by Jaleco, was released in North America in 1992.

About Rampart

Rampart is a strategic action game where players engage in artillery combat and castle construction. The core loop involves a cycle of building defensive structures, attacking opponents with cannons, and then repairing damage.

Gameplay integrates a building phase reminiscent of tile placement puzzles, followed by a combat phase. Players position their cannons within the constructed fortress to fire upon enemy forces.

The available player count depended on the version. While the initial release supported solo and two player modes, later editions expanded this to accommodate three participants.
