Mickey's Ultimate Challenge

Review

Solve puzzles and trade gifts to help stop earthquakes in the Kingdom of Beanwick.

Mickey's Ultimate Challenge was released for the SNES in 1994, the same year as the original Genesis version, making 1994 both the platform release year and the original release year.

About Mickey's Ultimate Challenge

Mickey's Ultimate Challenge is a puzzle game where the player selects either Mickey or Minnie Mouse as their character. The narrative begins with the chosen character falling asleep while reading fairy tales and waking in the earthquake-plagued Kingdom of Beanwick, where they offer to investigate the cause.

Gameplay involves encountering five Disney characters, each of whom presents a distinct puzzle task. Completing a task, such as a memory matching game to clean paintings, rewards the player with a specific gift item. The overall objective requires solving all these individual puzzles.

Progress hinges on correctly trading the collected gifts between the characters. The player must deduce which character desires each item, like a hammer received from Goofy. Successfully distributing all items grants access to a final puzzle and character, resolving the central mystery.
