Compete for European trophies with club teams in arcade or simulation modes.

World Trophy Soccer is the North American title of European Club Soccer, released for the Sega Genesis in 1992. The original game was also released in 1992 on the same platform, so both years are 1992.

About World Trophy Soccer

World Trophy Soccer is a football video game that was also released under the name European Club Soccer. Its development involved adapting the earlier title Manchester United Europe, retaining a side-view perspective for the action. This viewpoint is noted as being broader than that found in another contemporary Krisalis football game, John Barnes' European Football.

The game's content includes clubs that were eligible for the three major European competitions at the time of its release. However, these teams feature made-up player names and some uniform inaccuracies. Players can choose between an arcade style of play and a simulation mode, with six tactical formations available to select.

During matches, an on-screen referee is present and cutscenes are used to illustrate key moments in the game's progress.
