About Tecmo Super NBA Basketball

Tecmo Super NBA Basketball is a sports simulation for one or two players, featuring all twenty seven professional teams of its era and a roster of more than three hundred twenty athletes. The game supports several modes, including single exhibition matches and full or abbreviated season play.

Gameplay incorporates standard basketball mechanics such as fouls, player substitutions, and the ability to call time-outs, while also offering strategic control through programmable win loss records and selectable offensive plays. Beyond the core side scrolling action, presentation elements like digitized speech and cinematic sequences are used, with a dedicated camera view for free throw attempts.

Season progress can be saved directly on the cartridge due to an integrated battery backup system.
