Also known as
スティールタロンズ 스틸타론즈

A 3D helicopter combat game with 12 timed missions to destroy targets using missiles and a cannon.

Steel Talons was released in arcades by Atari Games in 1991; the Sega Genesis port was published by Tengen in 1992.

About Steel Talons

Steel Talons is a combat flight simulation originally developed for arcades before being ported to home consoles. The player controls a helicopter from a third-person perspective, navigating a three-dimensional environment composed of varied terrain.

Mission objectives involve destroying designated targets within a strict time limit, making the pacing challenging. A total of twelve such missions are available, alongside separate training and competitive modes where one can face an AI opponent.

Navigation and combat are supported by several systems. A tracking map displays both the player's position and enemy locations. The helicopter is equipped with a cannon and a finite supply of missiles that lock onto targets automatically. The aircraft is vulnerable to damage from collisions with the ground, terrain features, or other vehicles.
