Review
Also known as
Another World Another World: Коллекционное переиздание Outer World עולם אחר アウターワールド 另一個世界

This sci-fi action game features tactical energy gun combat and challenging, restart-based levels.

Out of This World (Another World) was originally released in 1991 for Amiga and other computer platforms. The Sega Genesis/Mega Drive version was released in 1992.

About Out of This World

Out of This World transports a physicist named Lester to an alien environment after a laboratory accident. His survival depends on navigating interconnected stages that blend combat, platform navigation, and environmental puzzles. The challenges evolve, introducing new obstacles that require exploration and problem-solving.

Combat is centered on an energy gun acquired early on, which serves multiple functions. It can fire standard projectiles, generate a temporary protective shield, or charge for a more powerful blast. Enemies wield similar weapons, making encounters challenging and tactical, as players must manage attack and defense options while observing opponent behavior.

The game uses vector graphics for its world and story sequences, with no on-screen interface or dialogue. Progress is saved via level codes obtained after completion, but death requires restarting the current stage. Lester is aided by an alien companion met during an escape, highlighting a cooperative dynamic within the hostile setting.
