Mickey's Ultimate Challenge

Review

Solve puzzles and trade gifts to stop earthquakes in the Kingdom of Beanwick.

Mickey's Ultimate Challenge was released for the Sega Genesis in 1994, the same year as the original SNES version, making 1994 both the platform-specific and original release year.

About Mickey's Ultimate Challenge

Mickey's Ultimate Challenge is a puzzle based game where the player selects either Mickey or Minnie Mouse as their character. The adventure begins when the chosen character, after falling asleep while reading fairy tales, awakens in the earthquake plagued Kingdom of Beanwick.

Progress is made by assisting five Disney characters encountered in this kingdom, each of whom presents a distinct puzzle to solve. These tasks vary, such as a memory matching game involving cleaning paintings. Successfully completing a puzzle results in receiving a gift from that character.

The core challenge involves determining which of the other characters should receive each specific gift, like a hammer obtained from Goofy. Correctly trading all the items unlocks the final puzzle and character, which is necessary to address the kingdom's seismic disturbances.
