About IMG International Tour Tennis

IMG International Tour Tennis is a licensed tennis simulation for the Sega Genesis featuring thirty two real male professionals. These athletes, such as Bjorn Borg and Yevgeni Kafelnikov, compete across fifteen distinct tournaments that vary in court surface.

Beyond standard exhibition matches, the game structures play around tour and tournament modes, accommodating both singles and doubles formats. A notable feature allows the player to concentrate solely on shot selection and timing, as character movement can be automated by the console. Players can also define a preferred strategy, choosing from styles like baseline play or rushing the net.

The available shot types include volleys, lobs, and passing shots. For practice, a tutorial area led by coach Vic Braden provides a ball machine and instructional hints on a specially marked court, offering a way to build skills before facing opponents.
