Eternal Champions

Review
Also known as
エターナルチャンピオンズ

A 2D fighter where nine warriors from across time battle for resurrection with brutal Overkill finishers.

Eternal Champions was originally released for the Sega Genesis in 1993; the arcade version was never released, so the Genesis version is the original release.

About Eternal Champions

Eternal Champions is a 2D fighting game where combatants are drawn from disparate points in history. Their participation is orchestrated by an extraterrestrial entity called the Eternal Champion, who selects individuals who met unjust ends. This tournament offers a single victor the opportunity to return to life and alter their fate, thereby influencing a cosmic struggle.

The roster includes a diverse set of warriors such as a prehistoric neanderthal, an Atlantean soldier, and a futuristic cyborg. Each possesses a unique array of special techniques and a distinct approach to combat. Matches conclude with the potential for a final, lethal flourish, where the winner can perform a graphic Overkill move or utilize the environment to execute the opponent.
